Assembly man found not guilty

 


Last week, a jury found Wrangell Assemblyman Mike Symons not guilty on a driving under the influence charge from Sept. 2010.

Symons’ trial took place Jan. 24 in Wrangell.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2010, Symons was pulled over by Wrangell Police Officer Joe Paul, who noted the truck Symons was driving had expired registration tags, according to court documents.

The traffic stop resulted in a DUI charge after Symons failed a field sobriety test, according to court documents. Symons had been at the Elks Lodge prior to his arrest, the documents state.
