During Wrangell's Little League season opener, Wolverines player Ethan Blatchley takes a swing during a game against the Eagles. Eagles coach Luke Messmer explained the season almost couldn't begin, due to difficulties finding enough volunteers to coach and assist. "It takes a lot of people for the whole league," he said. There was no shortage of kids to play, however. The league will sport two tee-ball teams for kids under seven, two minor league teams for 7 to 10 year-olds, two major league teams for 10 to 12 year-olds, and one senior team for teenagers, which will play against a Petersburg team during the season.
