Wrangell Wolves wrestler Tanner Thomassen overcame adversity and a series of competitors at the 2A-Region V tournament in Haines last weekend to walk away with the No. 1 spot in advance of the state finals in Nikiski. Thomassen took his win in the 145-pound class against Kake’s Angelo Lerma on a 5-2 decision. The Wolves will head to Nikiski this weekend to attend the state tournament.
