Cindy Sweat has been named as the new general manager for KSTK FM, following an exhaustive national hiring search.

KSTK FM has a new general manager – and she is someone we have all loved on the air and behind the scenes at Wrangell’s community-supported radio station.

In a news release on KSTK’s website, station board president Amber Al-Haddad welcomed Cindy Sweat as the new head of operations at the Coast Alaska affiliate.

“We are very excited to bring Cindy into this important role,” Al-Haddad wrote. “While we conducted a national search for the position, we believe that Cindy’s passion for broadcasting and her experience in all areas of the station’s operations, including programming, producing, and fundraising, made her the best fit as our GM and for the future success of the station.”

Before being named as GM, Sweat served as the Development Director for the station for 11 years, a position responsible for funding KSTK’s 24-hour-a-day operation.
