Putting them on the right track

Dan Rudy/ Wrangell Sentinel

Tracking expert Jeremy Lilly shows Wrangell search and rescue volunteers how to use lighting to their advantage when tracking during a Search and Rescue Technician II course on April 9. Recertification in the program is required every three years, and members of the Wrangell Volunteer Fire Department and Police Department were on hand to learn important search skills over the weekend, including land navigation, basic survival, evidence handling and tracking. Lilly was brought down from Anchorage to instruct the National Association for Search and Rescue course.
