A lightning storm split the Wrangell sky Monday evening as a long week of sunshine came to a damp conclusion. Hail and even a couple lightning strikes were reported around the 5.5-mile area along Zimovia Highway. Another thunderstorm in Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon shut down power there and caused a brief disruption in service to Wrangell.
