JOB ANNOUCEMENT

Wrangell Public Schools is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2025-2026 school year:

Elementary School Principal: The principal will provide leadership to ensure high standards are met and oversee compliance with district policies, the success of instructional programs, and the operation of all campus activities. Minimum Qualifications: Alaska Type B Administrative Certification with appropriate endorsements; thorough understanding of school operations; working knowledge of curriculum and instruction; skill in evaluating instructional programs and teaching effectiveness; skill in managing staff, operations, projects and budgets; strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills. Anticipated start date: Aug. 4, 2025.

K-12 School Counselor or Social Worker: The counselor or Social Worker is responsible for data collection related to social, emotional and personal counseling and guidance for students assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Valid Alaska Type C Special Services Certificate, with an endorsement as Counselor or Alaska Social Worker License required. Alaska Type A Teaching Certificate preferred. At least one year demonstrated successful educational counseling experience preferred. Anticipated start date: Aug. 4, 2025.
