A group of 21 children from Head Start sang at the Alaska Native Brotherhood / Alaska Native Sisterhood Grand Camp at the Nolan Center Friday, Oct. 3. The girls sang the “Girl’s Lullaby” and the boys sang the “Boy’s Lullaby.” The boys and girls together sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in both English and in Tlingit. Following the children’s performance, Grand Camp participants sang Tlingit songs and danced, then collectively donated $885 to Head Start for the annual Rites of Passage graduation. Grand Camp ran Oct. 1-4 in Wrangell.
