Terry L. Sherer, 79, passed away on Aug. 31 in Wrangell.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Hall at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.

Terry was born on Sept. 3, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona. He moved to Wrangell about 20 years ago.

He lived a life shaped by creativity and curiosity. A talented artist, Terry found joy in bringing ideas to life through drawing, sketching, photography, carving wood and bone, and creating unique jewelry. He saw art not only as a craft, but as a way of seeing the world, noticing beauty in the smallest details and sharing that vision with others, his family wrote.

“Alaska held a special place in Terry’s heart. Whether casting a line into cold waters or swapping stories with friends after a long day of fishing, he found peace and belonging in the wild beauty of the North. Some of his happiest moments were spent alongside good friends on the water.”

Terry’s legacy lives on in the art he created, his children, the friendships he treasured, and the many lives he touched along the way.
