The one-block section of St. Michaels Street between Front and Church streets was closed for much needed rebuilding as of Aug. 4, with the pavement already pulled up on the second day of work on Aug. 5. The project will include a new concrete roadway and sidewalk, along with new water, sewer and storm drainage lines. The borough’s $1.248 million contract to Ketchikan-based Marble Island is scheduled for completion by the end of October.
