BW Enterprises was working last week to prepare a new parking area near the high school. The company agreed to develop the additional parking on Reid Street in exchange for two borough-owned tideland lots on Evergreen Avenue, near the state ferry terminal. Work on the parking lot is projected for completion soon. The borough had bought the land from the Presbyterian Church, with plans to develop more parking for school and community events.
