Preparing for the start of the season
High school swim team manager Johanna Sanford gave a quick pep talk and rundown of the rules to the team before the first practice on Aug. 5. It was an encouraging first day, as 13 swimmers from middle school and high school showed up. Practices will continue as the swimmers get ready for the first meet of the season Sept. 4 in Juneau. There will be no swim meets in Wrangell.
