Dan Rudy/ Wrangell Sentinel

Chainsaw artist Rob McElfresh poses next to his handiwork at the City Park beach on Tuesday. He created the now emblematic "Wrangell" carving back in 2012, returning Monday to add "Alaska" to a nearby piece of driftwood. A carver for the past 18 years, McElfresh has recently moved to Coffman Cove from Longview, Wash., and intends to continue in Southeast with his roadside chainsaw art.
