Joel P. Franks, 52, appeared before First District Court Judicial Officer Chris Ellis to face a charge of Assault in the 4th Degree – Recklessly Injure, a class A misdemeanor. The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to serve 90 days with 85 days suspended. As part of his plea agreement, prosecution dismissed an additional charge of Interfere with Report of Domestic Violence Crime.
