Devyn Johnson watches as her son, Nolan, 5, steps down from the cab of a Hitachi backhoe during the Touch a Truck event at Volunteer Park last Saturday. Johnson began the event a few years ago, getting the idea from her sister, who takes her children to a similar event in eastern Washington state.
