Alaska Department of Transportation crews installed a 36-inch-diameter culvert at the 11-Mile landslide site on Friday, Dec. 8, to allow more water, mud and debris to flow under Zimovia Highway during inclement weather. Officials were worried that heavy runoff from the mountainside above the highway could further undermine the roadbed.
