Leslie Cummings celebrates community heroes during the parade on Saturday. Family-built, her float won first prize this year. "'Hometown Heroes' was a hard theme for me," she said afterward, having to think about what the theme meant. In the end, the float paid tribute not just to doctors and soldiers, but also teachers, coaches, judges and pastors. "That was my way of giving back to the community who has been so supportive of me."
