Live in freedom, walk in love

Freedom is one of those words we all love, but we often define it by what we’ve left behind. We celebrate freedom from addiction, guilt, fear, shame or unhealthy habits — and those are incredible testimonies of God’s grace.

But the Bible invites us to see freedom as something even greater.

In Galatians 5, the Apostle Paul reminds believers, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Notice that Paul doesn’t stop there. He goes on to explain what we’re meant to do with that freedom.

Christ didn’t set us free simply so we could avoid certain behaviors. He set us free so we could become the people He created us to be. True freedom isn’t just about what we’ve been rescued from; it’s about what we’ve been called into.

It’s easy to spend our lives chasing things we believe will satisfy us — success, approval, money, control or even religious performance. Yet every one of those becomes a burden when we expect it to do what only Jesus can do. Christ alone offers the acceptance, peace and purpose our hearts long for.

Paul’s challenge is simple: Don’t waste your freedom.

Live each day in the confidence that Christ has already done what you could never do for yourself. Then use that freedom to serve, forgive, encourage and love others.

Because in the end, freedom isn’t proven by what you’ve left behind. It’s revealed by how you love what’s in front of you

I sincerely hope and pray each of you will feel the love God has for you during this special holiday and every day.
