Homeschoolers to put on Christmas play

Wrangell’s Church of God will be hosting auditions for all home school students in the borough to perform in the classic Charles Dickens play, “A Christmas Carol.”

Students wishing to participate need to come to the first meeting and open audition for parts on Aug. 24 from 12:30-2 p.m. at the church.

Students will be needed to play all parts, from Scrooge to Tiny Tim, as well as other supporting roles. Students interested in gathering props, making scenery, and creating costumes are also encouraged to come to the first meeting.

“We will need lots of help from students and parents to produce this wonderful play for our community,” said organizer Susan Kowalske. “We also need parents who are willing to assist as committee chairpersons. Students will need assistance keeping focused, and they will need adult mentors for this project.”

Participants are asked to be prepared to read a line or two, possibly sing a song, and volunteer to add whatever talents they may possess. Students are also asked to bring a calendar for establishing rehearsal times and locations.

For information, call Kowalske at 874-2399.
