Christian P. Kirschenmann

Christian P. Kirschenmann, 62, died in Harborview Hospital in Seattle, Wash. on August 26, 2013.

He was born in Snoqualmie Falls, Wash. on May 14, 1952. There he grew up with his father Edgar Kirschenmann, mother Evelyn Johnson along with two sisters and a brother.

Christian spent much time in Snoqualmie working in the Weyhers mill until 1978. At that time he decided to move to Alaska where he did some logging, working in the Wrangell mill. Christian made Wrangell his home until 1987 when he relocated with his wife, Cathleen Jones, to Prince of Wales Island.

He went on to build a home in Port Protection and raised a family. Christian loved hiking, camping, gardening; some of his other hobbies included studying history and geology.

He was preceded by his brother, Jerry L. Kirschenmann of Arizona.

He is survived by his wife Cathleen Kirschenmann; three children, Cristin Kalkins of Ketchikan, Alaska, Kalon R. Jones of Wrangell, Alaska and Christian R. Kirschenmann of Wrangell; two sisters, Jody Adcox of Murray, Idaho and Janet Rutledge of North Bend, Wash.
