City reports second COVID case in 3 days
April 29, 2021
City officials reported a new COVID-19 case Saturday afternoon. It's the second case in three days and the 20th infection reported in the community since April 8.
"This individual is a Wrangell resident. This case is travel related. The individual is symptomatic and is isolating," the city reported in a statement at 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
"No additional information is known at this time," the statement added.
The case reported Thursday also was a Wrangell resident who had recently returned from out-of-state travel.
Most of the other cases reported in the past few weeks were community spread.
Though the city's face mask order expired on Friday, the city's Saturday notice asked, "Please mask up to help stop community spread of COVID."
It added, "Isolate yourself if you feel any cold-like symptoms and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible."
