Longtime resident Luella Rae Davidson, known as "Grandma Lou," passed away Jan. 31 in Wrangell.
A celebration of life will be held at Harbor Light Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, with a small potluck reception to follow downstairs. "If you are able to bring a dish to share, please do," her family wrote.
Luella was born Feb. 28, 1937, in California to Ralph and Dale Schrader. They moved to Oregon where she attended Roseburg High School where she met her future husband, Kenneth Davidson. They married on May 12, 1956, and had two sons, Kenneth and Robert. They spent a lot of time moving around the states and living in logging camps until they moved to Wrangell in 1975.
Shortly after settling in, Luella started working at City Market, where she worked for many years. "She affected a lot of lives and made many friends during her time there." After "retiring" from City Market she focused a lot on spending time "with the people she loved the most, her family." She had many hobbies including baking, crocheting, whipping up new recipes and quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Davidson Sr.; siblings Jeanie Lancaster and Rob Schrader; sons Kenneth (Tammy) Davidson Jr. and Robert Davidson Sr.; grandchildren Josh (Deanna) Davidson, Carmen (Matt) Chaney, Robert Davidson Jr., Jessica Davidson, Dawn (Jeremy) Welch and Jeffry (Bridget) Davidson; great-grandchildren Tiffani, Kirk, Kody, Elena, Kyli, Ava, Kade, Emma, Mark, Torin, Archer and Gabby; and many nieces and nephews.
"We want to thank all who have reached out to our family during this time," her family wrote.
