A celebration of life is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Shoemaker Park in Wrangell. "Please bring a dish to share and if you were lucky enough to get a picture of him, please bring it," the family asked.

Gale was born in Sonora, California, on Jan. 6, 1948, to Rudy Glass and Violine Sarff.

He was a longtime Wrangell resident. "He was a full-time storyteller and lived a life full of adventures that finally brought him home to Wrangell," his family wrote.

Gale is preceded in death by his mother, Violine Sarff; father Rudy Glass; brother Buzzy Glass; daughter Christina Glass; and son Robert Glass.

Gale is survived by wife, Deborah Glass; sister Voni Frei Clifton; sons Jordan Glass, Will Barclay, Tomy Murphy, Terry Murphy, Timothy Murphy; daughters Corinna Tyler, Holly Purvis, Dawnita Brunswick; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew and friends.
