Barbara Lee Patrick dies at 88

Barbara Lee Patrick passed away on Dec. 4, 2023, at the age of 88 in Monroe, Washington.

Barbara graduated from Wrangell High School in 1954. She married Russell Theodore Patrick on Nov. 3, 1956, at the University Presbyterian Church in Seattle.

She attended Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, for a year and a half and then attended business college in Seattle. She and Russell made their first home together in Madras, Oregon. They moved back to Wrangell in the late 1950s, where she worked at the National Bank of Alaska as well as many years for Dr. Harriet Schirmer at Wrangell General Hospital.

In 1979, they moved the family to Woodinville, Washington.

Barbara enjoyed playing the organ and piano for the Presbyterian Church in Wrangell as well as filling in at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church in Kirkland, Washington. "She will be remembered most dearly for the years she spent doing day care where she took care of her grandchildren, along with many other children who were special to her," her family wrote.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Johnson (Rick), Heidi Patrick, Tim Patrick (Jaynnea) and Holly Patrick; grandchildren Chad, Crystal, Corey, Justin, Kimberlee and Heather. Her family wrote, "She was also the proud great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren."

A memorial service will be held on Jan. 7, 2024, at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church in Kirkland, Washington.
