All the teams lined up for Little League opening ceremonies Saturday, April 26, starting the season that will run through mid-June. More than 120 kids signed up this year. The annual field maintenance day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10. Organizers ask that people bring work gloves and shovels to get the Volunteer Park ballfields ready for a busy season. And volunteers still are needed to serve as umpires, concessions stand workers, scorekeepers and field maintenance crews.
