Steven Rose dies at 67

Steven "Steve" Rose, 67, passed away on May 19, 2025, in Wrangell.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1957, in California.

A true jack of all trades, he was the kind of man who could fix just about anything - and he often did, with a smile and willingness to help others without expecting anything in return, his family wrote. He lived in Wrangell for more than 10 years.

"Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Steve was a good man through and through. Though he faced his share of personal struggles, his love for family and his friends never wavered. He loved deeply and gave freely, offering support and laughter even during difficult times," his family wrote.

Steve's life was filled with stories - some wild, some quiet, but all deeply human. "He will be remembered for his warmth, his resilience and the way he made others feel seen and valued. His memory lives on in the stories told, the songs sung and the love he gave so freely," his family wrote.

Steve was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Anna Rose

He is survived by and was the proud father of three children, Inamay Kennedy (Sean), Jesse Rose and Frank Rose (Samantha), who were his greatest source of pride. He also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Almarene, whose love and companionship were a constant in his later years.

His children will hold a private ceremony.
