    The Wrangell Wolves wrestling team had a good showing at the regional tournament last week in Juneau. Going against 10 other teams in the tournament, Wrangell was able to walk away with a third place finish.     Wrangell’s Elks Lodge hosted its annual Hoop Shoot last Saturday. The community gym was packed with kids participating in the free throw contest, and supportive family members and friends in the bleachers. The Hoop Shoot is a yearly event hosted by Elks lodges across the country for children ages eight to 13. Baby Raven Reads, according to Community Liason Delila Ramirez, is a program by the Sealaska Heritage Institute to promote literacy and language development in native children.     The Alaska DMV is working to reach compliance with the federal REAL ID Act. According to the Department of Homeland Security’s website, the act sets a minimum standard for identifying documents, such as a driver’s license or a passport. Marla Thompson, Director of the Alaska DMV, said that what this means for Alaskans is that the DMV will be offering licenses and state IDs that meet a higher standard of federal requirements.     After a long and hard-fought season, the Lady Wolves came home for the last time this year. After taking second place in Regionals at Metlakatla last November, the high school volleyball team went to Anchorage last week to compete in the state championship.     The Hoop Shoot, a children’s basketball free throw contest hosted by the Elks, will be hosted at the community gym this Saturday.
