Basketball star takes a shot at art
Retired WNBA all-star Sheryl Swoopes spent much of Saturday at the gym, leading a basketball clinic for 15 to 20 young players, before she moved to the Nolan Center to try her hand at forming a rose from two strips of cedar bark at a Bearfest art class. Swoopes and her son Jordan Jackson (named after Michael Jordan) were in town for the WCA Bouncing Back program, sharing stories and experiences about dealing with setbacks, challenges and success in life.
