Salmon derby continues to Aug. 17
Corey Ostrander, with a 29.7-pound king on July 19, was leading the annual king salmon derby as of Monday afternoon, July 28, followed by Lloyd Ward at 21.4 pounds, also caught on July 19, and Jason Fade with an 18-pound catch on Sunday, July 27. David Mork, with a 9.1-pound catch on July 20, was at the top of the coho derby leaderboard as of Monday. The derbies, sponsored by the chamber of commerce, will end Aug. 17. About 100 derby tickets had been sold as of Monday.
