An ounce of prevention

Dan Rudy/ Wrangell Sentinel

Denise McPherson administers a vaccination for influenza to Susan Haggard at Wrangell Medical Center's third annual adult flu clinic at Harbor Light Church, Friday afternoon. Nearly 200 residents came to get their shots, with more than half of those being the high-dosage variety recommended for senior citizens. Vaccinations are still available at the medical center, and are recommended for all through the end of the flu season in April. A children's flu clinic will also be held by the Public Health office later this month.
