Hundreds of community members turned out at Wrangell City Dock for an impromptu memorial walk on April 13, organized on the fly by local running group Southeast Beasts. The walk remembered three people killed in a plane crash on April 8 – Dave Galla, Greg Scheff and Thomas Siekawitch – and survivor Morgan Enright. "It was an amazing situation," said the group's director, Lucy Robinson, who was touched by the high turnout. "As usual, Wrangell really came through."
A goodwill jar collected $5,337, raised for families of the three people killed and one injured in an April 8 plane crash.
