Several people, dressed in green, were seen running through town last Saturday afternoon. These were not leprechauns, reportedly, but members of the Wrangell community participating in the Shamrock Shuffle. This was the seventh annual shuffle, an event put on by Southeast Beasts to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Participants had the opportunity to run a half marathon, a 10k, or a 5k. All proceeds raised by the run, according to Southeast Beasts' member Lucy Robinson, will go to support the Wrangell High School shop class. Runners were also invited to Rayme's Bar afterwards for the bar's annual corned beef and cabbage dinner.
